Mr. King, before you write about guns again (as in The Dark Tower Series, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, etc.) PLEEEEEASE, consult with someone who actually KNOWS about guns.

When I am totally immersed in a story, and riding along, hanging ten on the curl of it's wave, and then...... CRAP!!

the story.

I am police officer, an FBI Certified Firearms Instructor, and a Hunter Education Instructor. I offer my services to you for free, but know that I am much too far away for it to be feasible. I am SURE that the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will be able to hook you up with an officer or instructor.

PLEASE get assistance and learn a bit about the subject matter.

...dude, I gotta respect what you do...but I won't respect the post....that particular subject has been flogged beyond recognition...mistakes are mistakes-they happen, even to the best authors and sharpest eyed editors and experts...of which our host has access to many...I enjoy firearms myself, and own more than a couple-it doesn't make ME lose my mind and fail to enjoy the STORY.....I just chuckle, shake my head and continue to enjoy the tale...I just don't grasp the Masters of Minutiae and why it matters...it's not a firearms manual or a scholarly tome...it's a frickin' story!.....

That's where I was going with that - not at you - I don't mind the details. I just open the book and enjoy the ride. No nitpicking from me. I got problems of my own.

Not the best intro Todd but I can understand where you are coming from. I came across something about shelters once,in one of the books, where a sign said for clients to leave their bottles outside in a bin or something before entering. I ran a mat program for intox at Sally Ann. The last thing a client would do is to have their liquor unprotected. They would bury it first or stash it for the evening. It does throw one off. Anyway, welcome to the site and enjoy.

Probably you are a good officer and instructor... Merely the instructor took over the reader...
