Good lord, yes! And I just saw your post about Sanders in a town hall meeting. I've been busy trying to beat a deadline today, and I hadn't seen that was going to occur. I plan on seeing what I can find out about it. He's done FAR better than I expected, and certainly better than the DNC could have anticipated. Part of it is that he says some things that seem like plain common sense, part that he's so far resisted pandering to special interest groups (youth, women. My daughter tells me that Mrs. Clinton's lurches toward pop culture references and paling around with young celebrities is a HUGE turn off for her demographic--like saying, "You're too dumb to listen to facts, so like me because I'm 'hip'." I pretty much feel the same about her supposed appeal to women), and part that so many people just don't like Mrs. Clinton.
Yup. Speaking as a 20 yr old, my friends and I don't want someone who does the nae-nae and snapchats and takes #selfies for Instagram like Mrs. Clinton does. She's not our age. We don't want politicians to be 'cool'. We want someone who seems genuine and doesn't pander.... And I think that's why Sanders is doing so well, across the board, amongst folks aged 18-25 or so.

Sanders isn't doing very well in our poll here but he's doing better in national polls than anyone would have dreamed possible 6 months ago. Plausibility appears to be quite malleable.
I voted Sanders here.
I'm going to vote for him in the primary too. If he loses then I'm on board with Hills.
He did an outstanding job in the town hall meeting on CNN tonight. They all did, even O'Malley.

I feel the same as you. I really like Sanders, but if he doesn't get the nomination at least we have Hillary. I think she would be a competent (and....maybe....a good) president.

I like Hillary but she has a serious problem speaking to large crowds. She kind of reminds me of Al Gore on the campaign trail. She just seems to struggle coming across as a regular everyday person. Being a regular everyday person has nothing to do with the qualifications for being a President but that quality is very important because many people vote for likability over everything else. I think she is so much better when she sits down for one on one interviews. Her personality comes through much better in those situations. When she is giving her campaign speeches, she loses her personality. Also, like Gore, she realizes this and then ends up trying too hard to fix it.

Trump's going to ruin America? Give me a break. As President, he wouldn’t have the loyal support of much of the political establishment... from either side of the political aisle. So his power would not be all that great, and would likely be one of the most constrained presidents in our history. He wouldn’t be beholding to lobbyists, mega-donors, or political tribalism... Because he doesn’t have any, which allows him to freely use the bully pulpit in order to work for what is best for America. Everyone calls him a narcissist. Well, narcissists want to be loved, and to achieve that he would have to govern through dealings and incentives to strike popular bargains with Congress. He would placate to as much of the electorate as he thinks he needs to remain popular in the eyes of the people. It would take a whole lot more than an opinionated businessman and entertainer to bring this country down. So keep calm everyone... Go have a cup of coffee and chill. He’s not Nero or even the Boogeyman... we know that because Sanders is Nero, and Clinton’s the Boogeyman. :)

krf might, but I sure don't... You let this sit under "Movies?" ;):)
 My only excuse is that it was posted 10 minutes before my quitting time and I was thinking more about wrapping up for the day than looking at the thread heading. I'm moving it over now, though, and thank you for pointing that out. I mean that sincerely not sarcastically. :smile2:

Crap... you sure can take the fun out of things. I was attempting to get a little payback for that “whose” comment. I was really hoping for one of your witty comebacks. :)

“Yes, we will raise, we will raise the, we will raise taxes, yes we will.” Bernie Sanders from last night's Democratic Townhall ‘debate’ that was quickly thrown together because Hillary is dropping in the polls (and facing criminal charges by the FBI if Loretta Lynch doesn't put party politics over the law, that is).

So Sanders proposals add up to a staggering $18 Trillion cost over ten years, and the massive tax hikes he’s proposing only amount to $6.5 Trillion in additional revenue over the same period. I guessing basic math wasn’t Bernie’s strength back when he was in school... Or Congress.
