Possibly Fake Signature

Hello Forum I'm not actually looking to sell anything. I bought a supposedly signed copy of Full Dark No Stars off of EBay. I know.. I know pretty risky. The guy had no certificate of authenticity. He has no pictures of SK actually signing the book nothing. So I contact the seller his EBay store goes by the name The Book Lot apparently he has sold a few other "signed" books. I told him I know SK doesn't do many book signings anymore and I asked him were the books forgeries. He said they aren't he travels around the country going to book shows buying books and reselling them. This was a birthday present to myself since I own almost every single book SK has ever written besides the rare ones and short stories. I know that I'll probably never get to see him in person or get his autograph. (Woes me) right? But I feel sad that I may have been suckered. Please a little help?

Unfortunately this does look like a fake, sorry.

Many folks here have used Betts Books to pick up genuine signed copies.

At signings the organizers give a receipt of some kind. If the person who is selling the book doesn't have one, that in itself is suspect. Myself, I won't buy a "signed" SK book on eBay because it's a form of "scalping." Buy it for twenty and sell it for two hundred.

...the only thing that would make this worse is if it had been done in crayon....it's more fake than Kim Kardashian, sorry that you were duped...been there, done that, bought the t-shirt(it was fake too)....

...yes, she could ask the seller to make it right-and if that doesn't work, then Ebay can open a dispute with the seller...probably will get her money back and then she can invest it through Betts.....

Reporting a seller to eBay is often an exercise in futility. They seldom do anything unless they receive numerous complaints.

...interesting...I have opened several disputes over the years, and they have always dealt with it....I have only lost one......

Yeah, I agree I'm afraid, but you should be able to open an eBay dispute.

I was talking about submitting a report to eBay regarding a fake signature-not one you've purchased, but one that is a fake. The folks at eBay pretty much disregard such complaints.

I used to have a direct contact at eBay to deal with autograph forgeries but it's been several years since I've been in touch so not sure if he still works for them.
