Did anyone else notice....
The number 19 was drawn in two consecutive drawings, including the 1.6 billion jackpot. After the first time, my wife and I both felt certain that it would come up again, so I picked it.
But let's look at the whole thing a bit closer. On the pick 5 side of the big jackpot the drawing was 19 and 27. Those digits add up to 19. There was also 4, 8, and 34. Those digits also add up to 19.

I had been reading 'The Dark Half' at the time and pulled numbers out of that, plus the excerpt from 'The Langoliers' at the back of the book.
My numbers were 5, 7, 19, 29, 45 and 10. So I only had the 19 and the 10 correct. But, it was a very close thing. I waffled over picking 4 and 8 instead of 5 and 7 because 4 and 8 are very significant to me. I also almost picked 27 because that also has significance for me. And I was going to pick 34 because on page 234 of 'The Dark Half' there is a quote about Sherlock Holmes....but instead I picked 45 because on page 245 there is a short scene about....the lottery.
