I collect trains, baseball cards and guns. All 9f those have a lot of info out there on value of items. Having a hard time finding book values. Except for going to ebay but hard to trust that. There r prices on stephen king collector website but very different from eBay. For example the prices on ebay r much higher than the website. Sometimes by hundreds of dollars. I'm going by books in pretty good condition. Like the book rage. A good copy on ebay asking 1000,when I think price should be 650.

Is there a price guide anywhere for books. In cards beckett monthly keeps track of sales and updates pricing monthly. Ty

I find Ebay is very inflated. Most books listed too high are on there for a long time and usually do not sell at those prices. Many sellers are open to negotiation if you contact them. A good source for collectors/prices is TheDarkTower forums. Lots and lots of King collectors there and good buy/sell/trade.

I second that The Dark Tower Forums (thedarktower.org) is a great place to get an opinion on current pricing trends. Also it's a great place for a deal if you hang around and make friends.

Watching sales in Betts Books is also a great place to get an idea of a market price. David, the 'caretaker' is very fair in his pricing, so if you track his catalog prices you'll start to see what the trend is for various editions without the wild variance of ebay sales.

Betts Books is found online at Betts Bookstore, specializing in Stephen King. It IS a rather old school web store, where you place orders simply by emailing the owner David. There aren't a lot of pictures of his books, but he only sells and consigns the best stock and his book conditions can be trusted. He will, of course, email pictures on request if he has them available.

I doubt that there are SK focused book shows anymore, though perhaps there are "Horror" or "Fantasy" conventions where you might find good stocks, though I'd think they would be overpriced. You may want to watch your local ComicCon conventions to see if any of the SK artists/illustrators can be found at them. That would be a great time to get a sketch or even arrange a larger commission for your book with them.
