But, seriously, I think some of it is due to trying to impress the female of the species. If they stop responding to this (if that is biologically possible), the incidences might go down.

The one time i tried to impress a female by doing sometime stupid it didn't work at all. She just told me i was stupid and that i could have killed myself and do you really want that? My chances with her didn't rise exactly.
