Sounds like one of my dogs... (not so scary with a dog though, they seem to be able to handle more)
The thing about plastic with the cat is it gets all tangled up in their hairball, and then they try to throw up hairball and this piece of plastic is waded up in it. I've had to pull plastic out of his mouth attached to hairballs.

Believe me, we do plastic reconnaissance in our house.

My cat Motorboat somehow found a thread on the floor when I was moving stuff around and ate it. It passed into her intestines and tied them off. She had to have emergency bowel resection surgery, a piece of her intestines was removed. I've got some real $$$ in that cat but it's only money. She's happy and healthy now and that's what matters to me.

Oh my! I am glad she is fine. Damn animals just scare us to pieces, don't they?
