What is the most bizarre thing you have ever found in your child's room????

This past Monday, I found vomit in kiddo's drawer.
Apparently, it was from the night before.
God help me, that rhymed.

I've been a parent for 20 years and pride myself on having a strong stomach for all kinds of human messes, but this one took me an hour to clean up because I had to keep leaving the room.

We found an emergency box (at least that’s what we made it out to be from the attempt at spelling) my youngest put together when she was about five years old. We found it when she was thirteen years old. She didn’t even remember putting it together. It had things in it we had been missing for years. One item was a pre-iphone type cell phone of her sisters. I can’t remember everything that was in it but it made us laugh what a five year old would think she might need in an emergency. I’ll have to ask the wife if she remembers what was in it.

I can't stand having to deal with human vomit. I will either gag or spew chunks myself. I actually got myself a cheap military gas mask years ago at Army/Navy (from Bulgaria or somewhere) to deal with it. Gotta do what you gotta do. :)

That is so cute.

Canned food.

My son suddenly became scared that one day there would be no food, so he started hoarding canned food. He was a teenager.

At first I thought he was planning to run away and was bringing food. (Cans of food, you will not be running fast or far.) But I talked to him and at first he looked really confused, then laughed. I found it years after he had started hoarding it.

Lots of canned beans.

How old is the kiddo, if you don’t mind me asking? If the surprise you found was caused from a night of drinking then that’s just poor disaster recovery planning on their part! (I’m joking, I’m of course)

My brother (two years older than me) used to go out and party with his friends, come home drunk, go to bed and then throw up in the middle of the night. He wouldn't even get up out of bed, just roll over and spew on the floor. We shared a room so I would have to smell it all night....:( But it taught me to drink in moderation.

Haha...kiddo is 14, but developmentally much younger. I'm sure he knew he was wrong to puke in a drawer, but I still can't imagine why he did it.
In another drawer I found some candy wrappers and a ton of unopened candy. If I'd known he waan't feeling well, I'd have kept him home from school, but he was already on the bus by the time I discovered the mess.

Does he ever sleep walk?

When my oldest was in JK he was having a horrible and stressful time at school. There was a really bad smell in his room. I finally found the cause. He was peeing in his toybox....every night. But he was doing it in his sleep.

We had to throw away the toybox. And the following night, he got out of bed and came into our room. He opened the closet door, pulled down his pj’s and peed on the floor. We kept talking to him and he did not hear us at all.

A few nights later, we were watching tv. He came out into the living room, sleeping. He opened the door to the apartment building hallway, walked out, and went to the heater by the wall. As he was pulling down his pjs I caught him.

Next day we bought an alarm so if the door was ever opened at night we would hear it.

Gotcha.
