Dang, I had a chance to see him down in Wabash, IN a couple years back. Wish I would have, now.

RIP

I never saw the Allmans or Gregg live. I've seen a ton of shows on dvd but never saw the real thing. It seemed like every time they played close to me, it was a festival. They were at Wanee quite a bit. I never went because I'm getting too old to hang out in the heat and dirt. ;-D I'm an air conditioning and seat kind of guy now.

I missed Chris Cornell a couple of years ago too. I tried to get tickets but it was sold out. If the show would have been a little closer (it was a 4 hour trip), I probably would have went and tried to get tickets outside the venue but that's a little risky for a long trip.

We've lost two great singers within 10 days. Gregg was one of the very best blues singers.

...he could do Blues, Country, Rock etc.. and his band fused them all together into a style unique for the times....I can only imagine how their sound would have excelled even more, had Duane not passed away so early....Gregg was a grizzled giant of a musician, and our world of sound has lost one of it's foundation stones....

Quick medical question. Are liver transplant patients more susceptible to liver cancer than the average person? Lou Reed died of cancer a couple of years after a transplant and I've heard of a couple more too. Just curious.

...generally speaking, if the new liver was a cancer free organ, and all the cancerous cells had been removed from the original site-then susceptibility shouldn't be a concern-it's more likely that other cancer cells had spread and caused the deaths.....not the transplanted liver itself.....
