Here's a beautiful unreleased Prince song. Nobody could harmonize their voices like P could!
‘I Wonder’ Leaves One of Prince’s Greatest Valentine’s Un-mailed

One thing with Prince and one of the main reasons why he's been so successful: his songs connect with just one listen. Most popsongs you need at least two listens, his initially make sense.

The way this is faded though, I get the feeling it was either not finished or there's more to come after the fade...

This one is great too: Can't compare it to anything I know from him.

I wonder if we ever one day will get them all on neat discs. I fear not, the music industry mainly caters to the mass, not to the individual collector/fanatic. And there is just SO much.

It would be great if Prince's output on disc was as big and extensive as Frank Zappa's.

Check this out:
The Vault Masters Have Been Moved to Iron Mountain in California
His vault has been cleaned out and the music is in an Iron Mountain facility in California. For me, this is great news because Iron Mountain is a state-of-the-art storage facility and they also have the means to work on damaged tapes. Prince was an analog recorder and didn't like digital so those older tapes are going to need some work done to save the music.

It's got a little gospel feel to it but it's funky! A hint of the Ray Charles Pepsi commercial 'You got the right one, baby!' in there. Rumor is Prince was paid $1,000,000 to write that little diddy for Ray to sing on the commercial.

How did Comerica come to have say over the songs and what happens to them?

They were hired by the Estate to get things running. Comerica runs Graceland since it was opened to the public so they should know what they're doing. They were able to get Paisley Park up and running quickly to generate income fast.

I just hope Comerica doesn't follow Prince's online patterns and start yanking everything off of Youtube...
They can't. They don't own the rights to those videos. Warner Brothers does. They all signed a deal that allows WB to post any videos made for and/or during any contract that Prince had with them at the time they were filmed. That's why there is now an 'official' Prince YouTube channel. Every Friday new vids are posted.

I also noticed a lot of people were posting their own videos up and they weren't getting yanked, at least right away, or that I noticed ....

I was just over at prince.org looking at this article and what members there had to say. Apparently there are a couple of inconsistencies in the article....... I bought a bootleg vinyl copy back in the day (1988?) when I heard about this notorious album (I think I paid $25 for it back then). The bootleg is obviously a copy that someone made off of a cassette tape because there is a slight hiss all the way through it. Warner Brothers officially released this title about 8 years after it was originally supposed to be released and I bought that version too. It has become a highly sought after item amongst Prince fans.

He destroyed 500,000 copies of the album. It must have cost him a fortune.

I regret not buying it when it officially came out on cd, but my budget was more limited at the time and I had it taped on cassette. It's out on vinyl here now, my store has it (along with a number of 12" singles), but I don't play vinyl. I asked but they couldn't get it on cd.
Is it not on vinyl in the US at the moment?

I relistened it on Youtube. It's good, but not quite as good as I remembered it to be. Bob George is fantastic though.

It's so great to see all these clips in good quality. The Chocolate Box video I like a lot - I don't think I had seen that ever before. I hope they put them all on blu-ray some time, but I doubt it. For now this is a great alternative to see them though.
