This cure has never failed for me. Clench a pencil lengthwise in your teeth. Drink a full glass of water while the pencil is there.
It is hard to master the drinking without spilling, but you will learn. Hiccups gone. Every time. This gal is using a bottle of water which may make it easier to drink.

Interesting or strange, you make the call, but I usually only hiccup 'one time' and its over. Only super rare occasions I hiccup repeatedly like I dare to say most people.. HAHA I wonder if this is more common than I believe. It's never really been a subject of conversation that I can recall ever having!

YES, never take your health for granted...I will not go into my story, but it's a doozy. One year (2012) I'm rockin out at a RUSH concert with an ole MB friend, the next year, well, the next year changed my life forever. (as she typed through bandaged hands...)

I think it's the concentration. My mom used to cure us of hiccups by getting us to focus, saying, "Tell me right before the next hiccup comes." You Tube videos? Great idea - why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the tip - mine are almost invisible if I don't apply some sort of pencil or eyebrow powder...and you are right - it is a real art to make them look natural.
