Not a fan of the seeds either. I do like decorating with pumpkins, though.

Me too! I did a nice one with a happy spider on it a few years ago - too bad I did not take a picture!

What's that stuff called that helps your memory? You know the one you can't remember to take..

Ginko Biloba :umm::hmm:

At 2:23 Am, my stinky friend returned. Head under the covers for an hour again! Man, why do skunks have to smell bad without even spraying?? Don't they smell themselves??

I started wondering who your "stinky friend" was until I read the part about the skunk! :D:rofl::bad_smelly:

(it sounded at first as if he was under the covers with you).

Coffee.

You all like coffee? I sure do. Grind my own beans, you bet. Filtered water, that's the ticket. Little bit o sugar, not much. Coffee Mate creamer--just regular creamer, mind--none of that hazelnut, mint, or *choke* vanilla. That's the way.

And when I'm feeling exceptionally ornery I squeeze a little Hershey's Special Dark chocolate syrup into the whole mess. Don't tell anyone.

Coffee.
Thanks for the tip - I am going to try that syrup tip

Been meaning to post this on here for a while, but you know how life gets in the way.

On my way home from work, one day I passed this...

Of course, being a SK fan, I thought of unfound doors and couldn't stand it until I found out what was going on. Turns out it's a movement to support homeless individuals and promote art in the area.

Here's a link to the rest of the doors and the event. You can even bid on a door if you so choose. Note: I am not involved in this, but if mod's feel like it's promotion, please feel free to move.

I've just removed the word "vote", so it'll just be viewed as a link, rather than a fundraiser from our site. :)

I sat in the coffee shop and overheard the most idiotic conversation ever. Three hipsters, all talking and no one listening to anyone else, 'discussing' the movie Topper ("It was sort of dark," said Hipster #3, and the other two agreed. *buzzer* WRONG), and American Gods (Hipster #1 described in detail a scene that absolutely did not occur in the book, and the other two fell over themselves to elaborate, all agreeing that it was 'hilarious'). I had to leave when Big Trouble in Little China came up (one guy was wearing a tank top that was the same as Kurt Russell wore in the movie) and it became clear that none of them had seen it, though all agreed that it was, "Really good, and there were some deeper themes going on there, too."

My daughter was giggling her head off--said my face got sterner and sterner, then I started to get angryred(lol). Lord, I hate pretension. What's wrong with admitting that you DON'T KNOW SOMETHING?

*whew* Had to get that off my chest. Carry on :)

If it helps, skimom, I have absolutely no problem admitting I don't know things. For example, I have not seen the movies Topper or Big Trouble in Little China, nor have I read American Gods. :)
(And *Boo* *Hiss* to hipsters in general! ;) )

LOL! I'd rather keep quiet and be assumed stupid than speak and remove all doubt (BADLY misquoted from Twain)

We have a coworker that we have deemed "top the story"...No matter what the scenario she has either done it better or had it worse. It is often times entertaining to listen to her top the story.
We have one I have deemed 'tell the story.' She will take up our whole lunch time starting her story at the beginning of the Cretaceous Period and ending at the End of Lunch Period. Every minutia: dates, times, asides, anonymous people, Jesus, Uncle Horatio, Kansas City, the humble beginnings of Wal-Mart; they're all in there. She could've said what she said in two sentences, and it takes 25 minutes. Crazy.

This morning:
I was relaxed and reading. Out of nowhere my blood ran cold and I could hardly catch my breath. (It felt like what a friend of mine describes as a panic attack). But my first thought was my son. His name and face came into my head and I knew something had happened. I looked at the clock and it was 8:46.
I didn't want to be the crazy lady that calls the school because of a "feeling" so I waited. I couldn't concentrate on my book so I went online for a bit, checked my email, etc.
About 9:10 my son's teacher calls. She said he is fine, but he had a meltdown in class and threw a chair. I asked her when this happened and she said "about a half hour ago" but it took a little while for the staff to calm him down.
I'm glad he's ok now, but kind of freaked out that I "knew".

((80s Fan)) Sounds like you had a bonafide mom shining episode. Glad he's calmed down. Peace to you both!

I guess this is more common than I knew. Had a very good friend in school who was like this. He joined the army right out of high school -- so none (or very few) of his stories could be verified -- but if you told him you had just returned from the moon, he would immediately start telling you all about his upcoming trip to Mars. Sometimes in our more "spirited" moments, we would make a game of inventing outlandish tales he might believe in order to see how far he would go trying to "one-up" us.

Fun times.
