Thinking to myself . . .

I recently bought a very powerful operating system for my home so I’ve been visiting other sites more frequently. I also bought a tablet which I really use as an e-reader.

I’ve watched a lot of videos and surfed more than I have in the past. I’ve kept up with the news and read opinions and comments on various sites. Robin Williams’s death really hurt me and the Ebola spread has me concerned.

But what bothers me the most is the meanness of others that post comments on the web. And, the fact that they can’t even compose a complete sentence. They hide behind screens names and I’m beginning to have even less hope for humanity.

Madam - I was completely disheartened by some comments on a news article a few days ago. It was about Christian children being murdered by ISIS. The comment section turned into a hateful Catholic vs. Protestant debate. The fact that these people couldn't see the irony and dumb-*ss stupidity in arguing over which denomination was "correct," while extremists are murdering children over religion, made me pray harder for Jesus to come now and take us all.

It's also disheartening how the media loves to fan the flames. Can we all agree that every President played golf? Is it necessary to show a split screen of President Obama playing golf, next to the image of grieving parents of a beheaded journalist?

The media is a big problem. And hey, we all know that everything's Obama's fault! We are lost. Technology has made us blindly stupid.

If they're not arguing over whose religion is the best then it's about which political side is the best.

I read some horrible comments about Robin Williams. So mean and nasty until I almost retaliated. But, it's useless. It's how they feel and jumpin into all that hate isn't going to change that.

. . .whoa . . .side note . . .one of the techs that's assigned here has on jeans! Oh my . . .he's rocking 'em too. Never seen that side of him before . . .

Now that's something everyone can agree on, right - a guy in a good pair of Levi's!!

I try to avoid comments on anything I read online. There is so much needless petty meanness… I can't imagine ever saying some of the comments I've seen posted, and I don't think most of them would ever be said aloud. It's curious to me why anonymity makes people think it's okay to be petty or cruel.

Bright side, though, MM: there are pockets of true kindness as well as friends to be made.
