Thanks for all the good thoughts.
We will be ok. Thankfully, the company is offering a very generous severance package that should hold us over for a while until we can find jobs.
And since kiddo is disabled, he has medical assistance which covers everything health-related for him.
If anyone wants to help, we'd appreciate prayers (if you're a praying person :)) that nothing else major will go wrong for us anytime soon.

I really need to stop asking "What else can go wrong?"
Oh no! So sorry to hear this. Thank God for the generous severance! May he find something he likes better, making more money, weeks before the severance runs out. I'm a praying person. Will add your intentions to my daily prayers. Peace!

I was standing in the eternal grocery line that is Friday night in the 'burbs writing a litany of Random Thoughts in my head. I wish I could remember them - they were highly entertaining.

Hey, is early voting in your town as crazy as it is in mine? One sure way to make sure you DON'T get my vote is to have your people attack me with your flyers and such on my way in the door.

Our courthouse where you can early vote is at one of the busiest intersections in the city. Groups of people stand on all four corners of this busy intersection and will almost stick their heads inside your vehicle when you come to a stop at the light campaigning for their candidate. During the last election some idiot decided he was going to protest some candidate for some reason or another. He walks out into traffic in front of the courthouse and sits down right in the middle of the lane.....and is promptly hit by a car. The car wasn't going very fast because it was a red light but the guy ended getting a broken leg...and a ticket for obstructing traffic if I remember correctly. How dumb can you be? I get the protest part but the 3000lb. hunk of metal coming at you doesn't care what your politics are. Was it worth having the car run over your leg? I can think of less painful ways to try and get your protest on record...

I thought there could be NO campaigning within so many feet of a polling place. If people are voting, even if it is early voting, it is still a polling place.

My early voting place had a line, but it went very quickly and I was glad to get it done and not have to be there on the day.

This lists the laws by state.

This is 2012; the 2016 version is different, but can't get it to load.

The courthouse is right at the 4-way intersection but it sits off the road far enough so the intersection is fair game for campaigners.
