And this has been the norm forever anyway. Saturday morning cartoons had nothing but toy and Cocoa Puffs commercials sandwiched between Bugs Bunny and Road Runner. I'm sure I could have turned rabid eating all those sugary breakfast cereals if my parents had let me. After hearing the word 'no' to most of those questions, we learned not to ask. Kids who get everything soon learn to expect to receive everything, and then the parents are stuck breaking bad habits.

Agreed, except I think it's teachers who deal with the bad habits the most. Indulgent parents expect EVERYONE to indulge their child.

Found out today that I didn't get the job I applied for and as an added bonus, my husband was laid off from his job of 17 years.

Listening to the radio and a commercial for an upcoming gun show ended with, "Last time to stock up before the election!"

WHAT. THE. FRESH. HELL.

I have serious concerns for my country.

Not anti-gun (and not wanting to fight over that can of worms right now)--I come from a military/hunting family--but it's this sort of mindset that has people lumping conscientious gun owners in with the nutters.

We are gun owners, but that really makes us all look...exactly like the stereotype.
