Something I'm struggling with a bit and not understanding why NOW we are upset about beheadings -- What about Daniel Pearl? He was beheaded in 2002. Where was the outrage then? Where was the call to action then?I am *SO* over this bullsh*t with ISIS and beheadings and Sunni v. Shi'ite v. Sufi v. western infidels. I want to nuke the entire region to hell and back and start over, but I don't want civilians harmed and I don't want a war and I don't want anyone's boots on the ground. I am torntorntorn between righteous indignation and outrage, and remaining peaceable and serene, placid and stoic.
I just want this horror to be over and to live my life without another extremist religious-based coup or invasion anywhere in the world. I want humans to start treating each other as humans and not as enemies, as dictated by religious zealots.
I'll never forget Daniel Pearl and the despicable cowards who murdered him. I ask myself the same questions as you, Dana Jean.Something I'm struggling with a bit and not understanding why NOW we are upset about beheadings -- What about Daniel Pearl? He was beheaded in 2002. I haven't forgotten about Daniel Pearl. I'm just too angry right now to cite his awful end.Something I'm struggling with a bit and not understanding why NOW we are upset about beheadings -- What about Daniel Pearl? He was beheaded in 2002. I wasn't directing that at you Lily, but to the world who is all up in arms about these beheadings, now.I haven't forgotten about Daniel Pearl. I'm just too angry right now to cite his awful end.
At my local Fred Meyers, as I walk into the building, I will round up carts in my path and take them in with me. It drives me up a wall to watch people walk by carts in the lot or on the sidwalk (not the ones in the cart corrals) but the loose ones, anyway, they walk right by them and walk in the store and grab a cart. Really? You just walked by 10 carts you could've done a random act of kindness and brought in and used.Hey kingricefan you'll appreciate this! I was at the Dollar Tree the other day and while the cashier was ringing up my stuff, I took my basket (and all the other ones left behind at the checkout) and put them away in their place at the front door. The cashier says, "You've worked retail. " I asked, "Is it that obvious? " She said, "Yes."

I pick stuff up off the floor and put it back where it belongs, too. Maybe I need to get a retail job when I retire so I can work part time. I was thinking Shopper's Drug Mart would be a great choice (love getting a discount!)I try to do things like this whenever I can. At department stores, I hang up garments in dressing rooms others have piled on the floor. I know what it feels like to be the "employee" responsible for picking up after everyone else. But as you said, it's a random act of kindness. These types of small gestures could make a huge difference if more people joined in the movement!
