I'm a big fan, been reading him since the 1970's. I am reading Revival and was struck by something I think is a mistake.

On page 178, SK writes that Jamie takes a bust to Nederland, high up on the Western Slope of the Rockies. So sorry to say this but Ned is not on the Western Slope. I don't know who let him get his geography wrong, but I've been to Ned lots of times and it's on the east side of the divide.

Welcome - I could not really read what you wrote as I have not started Revival yet - but Welcome to SKMB anyway!

I know. Later on in the book, he reiterates that it's on the western slope. Of course, we know it is on the eastern slope of the front range...not that far from Boulder. Why he did this? Is he that mixed up? I dunno but it's disturbing and disappointing to this fan.

...I just don't understand the psyche shattering wrongness that people get out of these "egregious inaccuracies", years ago when The Talisman was written he mentioned an area very near me here in Ohio...was it perfectly correct?...hell no!....I was just tickled it was there....don't buy any more of his writings if you're gonna lose your mind over ephemera like this....

I am not "losing my mind", I'm just a bit confused because he's used this general area of Colorado before and gotten it right. Thought it was worth discussing. If you're going to be bent out of shape by a discussion of "ephemera", don't read discussion boards. It's often what's discussed. Just sayin'.

...well thanks for the advice, but I've been here for 8 years, and have sort of gotten comfortable with my role as Resident Idiot and Curmudgeon...and as far as being "bent out of shape"?...the nitpicking does hang on my last nerve...just sayin'....
