I just finished reading Mr Mercedes and did enjoy the book and the characters. BUT....finding typos urks me like crazy. How can they slip through?? The Authors Note states that the book was edited and then reedited. . Wow.... None the less, good book Mr. King.
Having worked on (several) SKMB's over the years as a beta tester, I can tell you it does happen from time to time. There have been occasions while testing new sites that things have slipped past several of us before it's been caught... even when we're all completely focused. I think it's called being human. :biggrin2:

Maybe the editors assumed it was meant to be spelt that way, like Pet Semetary was meant to be spelt that way. That's if you're referring to "guarenteed" ( If i remember the typo correctly)
Ahh, now I remember what Marsha had said. Stephen had mentioned that this is 'one of those words' that he is always messing up and during the editing phase it had been assumed that this was just one of those words peculiar to Brady, as he had one or two other 'special words'. (perk)
I think that is how it went anyway.

...you mean like misspelling the word "irks"?.....:biggrin2:
I like to mispel "misspell" due to the iron-e. I've noticed that most every book has a grammar error or two; usually it's a misspelled word. Unless I'm mistaken (there should be a Liam Neeson movie, Mistaken, about a man who inadvertently rescues someone he's not related to or doesn't know or who's his mistress), there's a thread for members to post mistakes they discover, isn't there?

Welcome to SKMB Diane333 - finding a mistake in a Stephen King book is not a prerequisite to membership but still welcome anyway and come back to chat sometime!
