Does anyone else find this recent cover design for IT to be deliciously creepy?

Same here. The artist also did the original Misery hardcover, which I like alot. Very nostalgic for when I first became a King reader.

Indeed, Doc, I also get very nostalgic about those covers. Never thought about the claw...I think GNT is correct about that. If anything, maybe there should have been two eyes subtly added instead of the green appendage.

You know, I wonder, when books are rereleased with different covers, who is the intended market -- those who already own the book? As ThatEndDown implied, sometimes readers need new copies to replace older ones. I wonder if the majority of sales from a new release is comprised of new readers or ones who have already read and owned the book (I'm thinking that a lot of new King readers may acquire their copies from used bookstores).

....I think a balloon in the back of the grate would have worked as well.....

I don't get how Stephen King would allow the publishers to put the rubbish covers they put on some of his books of late. The one for Carrie is atrocious and the Salem's Lot on is not much better. I think the younger generation has better taste than some of those covers. I was at K-Mart and noticed them.
