I try to live my life without them but sometimes you can't help but have one or two.
I should probably have more from my party hearty 20's but eh, we'll chalk it up to being young and stupid :facepalm_smiley: ( not to mention the fact that I thankfully don't remember most of them ;;D)
Anyone have a regret they just can't shake?

What I regret most are the things I didn't do… opportunities I missed because I was too cautious.
Same here. I still remember the absolutely beautiful venezuelan girl i know in school (i was seventeen years old) and she invited me up to her apartment (she and her parents lived in a rather posh part of stockholm)after a party when her parents where out... We really liked eachother but was both very shy.... And in the end i said no and walked home. Stupid.

Handsome, rich, nice, Thomas Gibson-looking rower, senior to my freshman, offered to walk me home after a crew member's party (I found out later that he'd urged his senior friend to invite me and two other freshman friends-never occurred me that we were the only freshmen there). Perfect night, snow gently falling... and I cried off to make sure my drunk friends got home all right. Watched him walk off into the darkness and never saw the guy again--he apparently got called home for a family emergency the next day. I've always wondered...(and kicked myself for not abandoning the idiot twins--lol). I actually used bits of that memory in my first book :)

If this is the actual reason you cried off, then there can be zero regrets, despite hindsight.

Yeah, yeah... I'm the caretaker--lol. No real regret (I have a pretty sweet family set up as is :D), but I'll always wonder just a little bit. I think he liked me because I ignored him (or at least, I didn't fawn openly).

Just curious, Scott, but might there have been reasonable reasons for your decision about med school?
...nothing reasonable at all Frank, in my pre-med classes-I clashed with a couple of the influential prof's(killed one's fruit fly experiment), was very immature-first time on my own and out from under an overprotective mother, so I drank and drugged myself into a stupor and I fell in love with radio, which sidetracked me for some 3 decades...

...and you subsequently met the love of your life and had beautiful kids and a home you love, despite yourself... What would you have had had your heart not prevented it?
