I seem to remember the first time I read this that when
Joe hit Deloris in the kitchen one of the boys was at the table and said to Deloris "that will teach you" because she laughed at Joe's ripped pants. She decided to make sure that her son did not think this was allowable for anyone to ever do.
The copy that I am reading now is a book I bought again as I gave the first copy to someone to read and never got it back. Was it the way I remembered and got changed or what?
Also I have wanted to ask since I read Needful Things why
the sheriffs wife did not put on her safety belt the day she was in the car accident. The owner of the store told the sheriff he knew why but the sheriff never asked.
Was there a reason for this? Just really curious for many years now.
