Sure, I have resolutions. They don't mean more than resolutions any other time, but the turn of a new year is a good time to focus on goals with a mind toward getting them... ummm... resolved.

1. Lose 25 pounds.

This is doable. I've done it before. I have good reason to be motivated in terms of feeling good and living longer.

The probability of success is the question. Yes, I did it before. In 2011. With a heart attack fresh on my mind.

2. Publish three books.

This is eminently doable. I've already got one of them done and started another.

But here's the rub. If, as some of my friends want, I get "discovered," that means a traditional agent/editor/publisher would take a hammer and wrench to things, and then the process starts, and the book comes out a year or two down the road. So I'm kinda hoping for failure, in a good way, on this one.

3. Moderate my political discussions.

I'm on a quest for dialogue that generates more light than heat. We should know by now that if someone isn't basing opinions on facts, data, and the obviousness of experience, all the discussion in the world isn't going to be persuasive. It's time to engage productively.

This one is doomed to failure.

4. Be more productive.

I sometimes am astounded by how much time I spend on things that are better spent elsewhere. Take Facebook or SKMB, for example. If I really looked at how much time I spend here versus time with family, or work, or writing, you know, I'd probably just up and lea
These are awesome - I might steal a few since mine are not appropriate for board posting. (not the lose twenty five pounds one, if I did that, you wouldn't be able to see me. Maybe i'll gain weight . . )

Hey, Jane Fonda’s almost up there and still looks pretty damn hot. :)

My youngest daughter and her friend made me go into Victoria’s Secret for some Christmas shopping. I put a lot of distance between me & them while in there, and stared at the exit, as I figured proximity and eye contact determines how creepy everyone thinks I am.

You probably shouldn't have worn the trench coat.

or at least worn something under it.
