For those who might be interested, Publishers Weekly says that "Revival" is the top hardcover fiction book and that it sold, through 11/16, over 90,000 copies. I'm not sure I fully understand the true meaning of that stat, but to the best of my knowledge, it just includes physical books, not digital. I may be wrong.

On the overall list, the new "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" tome beats them all, with over 220,000 units sold for the week. It had been released a little earlier, so it actually now has a grand total of well over half-a-million units.

I wish I came up with "Wimpy Kid."

I guess that just shows you the buying power of young adults these days - I have never read "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" but I guess it is geared towards teenagers (or 'tweens'?)

Wimpy Kid books are for kids from about 3-6 (maybe 7th) grade. My younger kids loved them, particularly the first 3 or 4 books. Apparently the books are getting repetitive (according to the kids--lol), so I haven't heard any agitating to buy the newest one. There MIGHT be crossover to older kids, but I'd imagine it's largely nostalgic--they really do read like they're written for younger kids.

I noticed it also seems to be a series - I guess that helps to increase sales as the kids will want the 'latest' book, just like their friends.

I am sorry to say that "Revival" has dropped to second place on Publishers Weekly hardcover-fiction bestsellers list. Over 40,000 units were sold in the book's second week; the cumulative total now is over 130,000 units. However, this stat, as far as I can tell, does not include digital sales.

On the overall list, King has dropped in rank from second to eighth place. A steep decline. That "Wimpy Kid" book we discussed previously is still in first place. In its third week on the list, the tome has sold well over 150,000 copies. It is close to a total of 700,000 sold at this point. Feel free to head on over to the site to check out more stats.

Maybe Bev (or Ms. Mod) could put King's sales in perspective. Are they above expectations? Below?
