I don't know how many people besides myself have heard, but Richard Adams has passed at ninety-six. He is one of my favorite authors and a man whose work has had a profound effect on my life. "My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend has stopped running today."
....It's been posted in the RIP Thread, so maybe a Mod will be so kind as to blend your post in.....

RIP. Will it end? If you have not read this or Traveller. You must.

I only read Richard Adams because SK said that Stu was reading it, in the Stand Novel.
I had to go see. Read Watership Down. I was lost in the story. So beautiful. Learned a new language. I speak rabbit.

Traveller is beautiful too. Poor Horse. Told war through his eyes.
So, Thank you Stephen King. For making me want to read Watership Down and the rest of his novels.

RIP, Mr. Adams.

Oh, no! Did not know. A great author that became an author partly by chance. Watership Down was created as a way to keep his two daughters calm during a long car voyage. They persuaded him it wasgood enough to be written down and published. But he isso much more than just that single book.....

This perhaps a bit late but i just found out that he passed away on Christmas Eve last year.
The author who gave me such pleasure while reading Watership Down, Shardik, The Plague Dogs, Maia, Traveller and The Girl in the Swing is no more. Rest in peace, Mr Adams and thank you. You gave me and others so much. He was 96.
