I listened to American Top 40 with Casey when I was in high school, but it was really when I was studying abroad in Germany in college that I reveled in hearing both his voice and the (mostly) American music from across The Pond. I had a shortwave radio and could pick up the broadcast from L.A., and then hear it again a week later on Armed Forces Radio Network. It was like having a hit of M-TV, old-fashioned radio, and rapid American English all at the same time, at a time when I missed watching TV in English and hearing English radio broadcasts with decent music. (No offense to the Germans here, but German pop music leaves quite a bit to be desired.)

Kasem was a favorite of mine, like a soft and fuzzy blanket in radio form. Seacrest is no comparison to him.

...all Jean deserves is a big old bowl of Tough Ti*ios!....

I think maybe we should try not to judge. There seems to have been major disagreement on end-of-life treatment. It's never easy to make that decision. It's also never easy to sit back while someone else makes the decision opposite to what you want.

I hope the family all can heal and be at peace.

...agreed, but my point is-Jean was well aware that he had an Advance Directive in place, and chose to ignore his wishes...
