I had heard a night or to ago that she had had a problem with her heart during a surgical procedure at her doctor's. I hope she will pull through, she is one gutsy lady.

Like it said in the article - she would not want to be a burden to anyone so if things do not improve, perhaps they will let her go peacefully. Very sad

Quite unbelievably, I have read numerous very unpleasant comments since she was taken ill. According to some, her recent remarks about Gaza make her deserving of death!

...just across MSN...she has been placed on life support...as a nurse, I can tell you that is a grim prognosis...

When you get to be over 80, a simple procedure can become quite hazardous. Some never recover from the anesthetic

Sadly, I agree.
A woman of Joan's age being in a coma on life support doesn't seem likely to end well.
Still, she's about as tough as they come, so who knows? This is not just any 81-year-old woman we're talking about!

May she recover fully and bring more laughs to us all. This is making me really sad- I could only take her humor in small doses, sometimes she was a little too mean-spirited, but she is one tough gal.
