Heard on the news last night and then found this article this morning about the son of Officer Ramos being given a full scholarship to complete his education at Bowdoin College here in Maine, where he is currently a sophomore. Full disclosure even though I'm in Red Sox Nation and it was the Yankees organization, but they had offered to do so as well but Bowdoin had already committed to offering that for Justin. The Yankees also offered college funds for his younger brother so they deserve props for that, too.

Something positive amongst the tragedy.

That was a great gesture on the part of both organizations. I hope both of his sons are able to get through this.

It is wonderful that these kids will be able to get their education paid for, wish it was able to be done without such a horrible trigger..I saw the one boy,Ramos',thirteen years old, post on fb,calling it the worst day of his life, and of course he is confused and upset..I truly hope this country can start pulling together and stop being so divisive and violent..

I'm a Sox fan too. Can't live in the Boston area for 8+ years and not become one (unless you're already committed to some other team; I wasn't). I didn't think the sun would rise again the morning after Grady Little left Pedro in after 100 pitches in 2003. Then 2004 happened. Sweetness. Not that I kept the faith well. I gave up after game 3, but my wife didn't. She watched it all and kept telling me there was always hope (like the BSU-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl, I quit on that one too and she didn't). Anyway, despite hating all things Yankees, I have to admit that they are always classy when it comes to things like this. They work closely with West Point and are always very good to Cadets as well as cops and firemen.
