I first thought you said "There are some germs in this collection", wondered what you meant, if you finally lost it or if i was missing something. Do i need a Hazmatsuit to read it? Then i read it again and everything got clear. There are some gems in this collection!! Highly recommended by me!

I keep praying that Mine will get filmed! I just can't fathom why it hasn't been done yet.Read quite a few of his books back in the day. He is one of the great as-yet-untapped writers by Hollywood. I messaged him on Facebook about The Wolf's Hour, which was at one time optioned for a film, but he informed me that nobody knows what's going on with that, sadly.

I've read all of Dan Simmons' books. He is one of my favorite authors. I started the thread 'Dan Simmons Anyone' in the 'Bred Any Good Books?' column. I read the first 4 Hyperion books but they're not my cup of tea. Speaking of which- Hyperion has been in 'development' for years. At one time Leonardo DiCaprio was to star with James Cameron to direct but it must have fallen through. That's LaLa Land for ya....Or Stinger, which shares one plot element with Under the Dome.
I dunno man. A lot of these guys like McCammon, Ramsey Campbell, Dan Simmons, they put out some great stuff. But Hollywood is just so fixated on a quick cash grab that they're not looking around for new material. It's all prequels, reboots, remakes, whatever.
Not to digress from the thread too much here, but have you read Simmons' Children of the Night? The segments "Tales of Blood & Iron" are early tales of Vlad Tepes before and after his vampiric transformation. That material is ripe for a film, or a series.

Seems I read earlier today Summer of Night was recently sold to the movies. Can’t remember where I saw that, though. In the wake of IT’s success, maybe it’ll happen.I've read all of Dan Simmons' books. He is one of my favorite authors. I started the thread 'Dan Simmons Anyone' in the 'Bred Any Good Books?' column. The basic storyline in SON is almost the same as in It. When the book was published Simmons got some flak for that. Simmons does a 'Hitchcock' (pertaining to what happens to a character in Psycho) in this book, too!Seems I read earlier today Summer of Night was recently sold to the movies. Fires Of Eden isn't one of my favorite Simmons books. Maybe I should do a re-read?Speaking of Dan Simmons, I highly recommend Fires of Eden. If you've not yet had the pleasure of reading it, you're going to look at one of the main characters and ruminate on what a prophet sai Simmons is. He didn't need any dang jawbone, either.
He did write somewhat of a sequel called A Winter's Haunting.Again, I know I'm digressing from the thread here, so forgive me. Thanks for the book recommendations guys. I've been checking out Simmons' Summer of Night on Amazon, and I see it's subtitled Season of Horror Book 1. Is this an ongoing series?

Oooooh Jealous here!Today the mailman delivered my Subterranean Press signed limited edition of Swan Song. It's gorgeous! I want to do a re-read but I won't read this edition, I'll settle for my paperback as this new edition weighs a ton!
I think A Winters Haunting is better! He did write somewhat of a sequel called A Winter's Haunting.
I think Swan Song has more 'heart' to it than the Stand does.Too many pages to read through, but Swan Song is and was still my favourite out of all his books! It's better than the Stand (excuse my blasphemy lol)
