From Dlisted:

During a Foo Fighters show in Gothenburg, Sweden on Friday night, Dave Grohl fell off the stage and broke his leg. Normally the second someone breaks their leg, they realize that it’s time to haul ass to the hospital and call it a night. Not Dave Grohl. According to People, when Dave Grohl realized something funky was going on with his leg after he fell off the stage, he climbed back up, grabbed a mic, announced “I think I just broke my leg“, and asked everyone to hold tight while he took care of that sh!t.

Dave Grohl then left the stage, got a paramedic to immobilize his busted leg, grabbed a pair of crutches, hobbled back on stage, and finished the show. Every performer who has cancelled a show because of “exhaustion” just hung their head in shame.

Slash Confirms He And Axl Rose Are Friends Again: 'It Was Probably Way Overdue' - Blabbermouth.net

File under: Both guitar players for the new Guns n' Roses quit within the last couple of months and Axl wants to make nice so he can justify a reunion of the classic GnR lineup (well hopefully with Izzy Stradlin and Matt Sorum on drums. Steven Adler can leave his junky butt home, thanks.) Which he will probably ruin by continuing to act like the pompous, dbag, has been rock star that he is. You know, just Axl being Axl.

Did you notice how Slash neatly avoided discussing the possibility of a reunion?
I hope it happens, but someone's gonna have to medicate Axl for it to be feasible.
I kinda want to see the original line up, but I get what you're saying about Adler.

So, I went to the Social Distortion show last night.

The Good:
  • They played the entire 1990 Social Distortion album. That was pretty cool.
  • They finished really strong. The encore was killer, ending with their cover of Ring of Fire.

The Bad:
  • The House of Blues in Boston sucks. The way they do General Admission is stupid and the mix for the band was crap. Vocals were almost non-existent in the mix. They destroyed two much better clubs (Avalon and Axis) to acquire the property for the HOB. The least they could do is have a decent sound engineer and an admission policy that makes sense.
  • The second opening act, Nikki Lane, was terrible. Supposed to be outlaw country. Not a typically country fan but I can dig a lot of different types of music. Not this. All songs were in the key of suck.
  • Mike Ness, Social Distortion's singer, decided to get all talky, mellow and basically act like a punk rock Bono 2/3 of the way through the set. It's the first time I've seen Social D where that's happened. I don't mind a few mellower tunes and some audience banter but this was a bit much. It also caused the crowd to start to lose interest which leads me to......
The Ugly:
  • Security in general for this club is a joke. They play all tough guy when it comes to their admission rules (Which don't make sense. General Admission should be anywhere in the club. Not GA for the floor level, GA for the Mezzanine, etc. I had to sneak down to the floor because my tickets were technically for the mezzanine). The pat down on the way in was excessive. Seriously, they checked the inside of my hi-tops for weapons. Are you kidding me? Also, the guy patting me down spent slightly less time feeling around my private SwiftDog places than my last GF did. The guy should have bought me dinner for all the time he spent feeling me up!
  • Way more than normal drunken idiots. Especially for a Sunday night all ages show. I watched one guy fall on his face because he was wasted. This was about 4 songs into the show.
  • There was some type of skinhead bromance going on at the bar next to me. All touchy feely then pushy shovey. The pushy shovey spilled over to the other people at the bar. Took Security about 10 minutes to toss these clowns out.
All in all, I'd give the night a 7/10. Had a good time and most of the set was really good. Got to hang out with some of my friends I haven't seen in a while. Terrible venue and lousy staff that are quick to jump on silly things but slow to respond to bigger problems (i.e. drunks fighting and other crowd related shenanigans). Seriously, if you live in Boston, and your favorite band is playing the House of Blues, think twice about getting tickets. The venue is really that terrible.

Yeah. But for enough $$ he will do it.

And the GnR reunion rumors have started! First one out is that they will be playing the Soundwave Festival in 2016.
I wondered how long it would take. I'm willing enough to attend a reunion show.....but I want only original members......even that Adler azzhat.
If Axl can play nice long enough it could be a great thing.

Not news really but did anyone listen to that Pat Boone album where he does hard rock/heavy metal? It was actually quite good and well produced.

I've heard about it and often wondered if there was any influence from Ozzy. I've heard both Ozzy and Sharon talk about having Pat Boone as a neighbor and how much they liked him. It might be worth a little research to find out if that album came out at the time he was a neighbor of the Osbourne's.
