I read at Lilja's site that King & Straub are gonna do a third Talisman book! Any truth to this?Lilja's
I'm glad you came here to get the facts. Steve and Peter Straub have always had plans for a third book. The speculation that it is going to be now was spurred because they were together at the book signing in NYC on Tuesday. That is not the reason for their getting together and no, there aren't any immediate plans to write the third book. They're friends who were getting together because they were both in NYC, nothing more.

Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. Marsha is saying it ain't happening in the near future but someone who went to he event last night said King mentioned he had talked to Peter and that they wanted to get working on it soon.

Come on now Liljas site deserves better than that. Lilja posted that he just emailed Straub and that King and Straub are planning to write it next year.
Noboday in this thread was 'dissing' Liljas websight. Just seems that there's info being posted that is confusing. No harm, no foul.

I find Lilja disrespectful to Marsha and the office by not getting his information okay'd through them for these "revelations" they put out. True or not, IMO, it is disrespectful.

Does Lilja have to do that though? I wasn't aware that that was the case, or that was something that King's people wanted him to do. As long as the info is reliable I thought it would be fine to just put it on his website. His site has been around a long time and if he posts information about rumours/speculation he always seems to specify that they are rumours or speculation.

I guess I didn't think there'd be any issues with Liljas site. It's one of the most well-known Stephen King sites (maybe the most well-known after stephenking.com) and its main purpose seems to be posting Stephen King news. I don't want to begin an argument (and hope it's not coming off that way) but I'm not sure what the problem is? I usually only go to Liljas site to find out news on Stephen King so if there was some kind of issue with his site or how he posts his information I didn't know about it.

Thanks for your reply. If it does get written next year though then it would probably be out in 2016 or 2017 (I'm guessing), so we have to wait a while yet!
I would love for there to be a third in the series. The Talisman is on my top 10. I'll just wait for Stephen's site to confirm it.

Boo hiss. This means I must resume pestering Straub on Twitter now. (Hey, he's responded to one of my Tweets. Success shall be mine, I shall rule the world, and we will all have a Talisman III to read. Stranger things have happened, people.)
