I find Lilja disrespectful to Marsha and the office by not getting his information okay'd through them for these "revelations" they put out. True or not, IMO, it is disrespectful.

I do not see why Lilja was disrespectful in his message.
Re-read his post, he says : Steve and Peter HOPE to write Talisman next year. And that he got confirmation of this from Peter Straub.

What is disrespectful?
It's not like if he was saying that Steve is currently working on it. The title of the article may be misleading, but that should intrigue you enough to read the actual content of the article, in which he says what he says : they both HOPE to be able to work on it next year... what is wrong with that?

Come on now Liljas site deserves better than that. Lilja posted that he just emailed Straub and that King and Straub are planning to write it next year.
...and Ms. Mod deserves more repspect than that....since she's been Steve's assistant for over 20 years, one might safely assume she has an inside track on certain things, and will reveal those as permitted...so, back off with your condemnations....

...you just answered your own query...the title was misleading which reeks of sensationalism for the sake of it....

First off I want to apologise if it seems like I'm trying to create arguments or hostility or whatever.

Lilja said he'd emailed Peter Straub and Straub said the plan was to write it with Stephen next year. So Lilja is either telling the truth, lying, or there was some miscommunication with Straub. Liljas site has been top notch for over 15 years now and it'd be crazy for him to be lying about an email he had with Straub. I can't believe he'd lie about something like that and I don't think it qualifies as rumours or speculation if he said that's what Straub wrote him in an email.

And obviously if Stephen has told Ms. Mod not to say anything yet, then she's doing the right thing by doing her job. She shouldn't be revealing anything Stephen doesn't want her to, but if news gets revealed elsewhere, well, that's the internet for you. If Lilja is correct then it doesn't seem fair to suggest it's only a rumour.

So I'm hoping this doesn't evolve into a giant argument but we can probably all agree it will be interesting to see what happens on Liljas site over the next few days!

Yes it is the internet and then I have to waste my time doing damage control when rumors get started. I haven't been in touch with Peter so I don't know what he and Steve discussed but I did have a conversation on Wednesday morning with Steve and when I mentioned that the picture with him and Peter from the NYC signing was going to spark speculation about the third book, he just chuckled and said that would be nice but his plan for 2015 is to write the third book for the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. I might also remind people that I think it was at least 3 or possibly 4 years ago that Stephen had said that he and Peter were "planning" to write the third Talisman within the next 2 years. Even though that was the intent, it obviously didn't happen. That's another reason why I have a problem with things like this being announced in unofficial channels. It gets fans hyped up about something that may or may not turn out to happen. Even when it comes from official sources that are at least a little more reliable, it doesn't always pan out. Talisman and Dark Tower movies--need I say more? Bottom line (and this is from Steve) is this, fan sites should be considered rumors about any of his work until any OFFICIAL announcements are made on his site.

Thank you for your response. I can imagine it must be very annoying dealing with false information and so on, but I thought Liljas site was trustworthy? I'll be interested to see how this plays out on his site in the coming days.
All I'll say is that Lilja did not come to me to verify the information and this isn't the first time this has happened.

I've been a member of this site for many many years and this is not the first time controversy has arisen over SK news posted on Lilja's site, and various other sites. I have nothing against that site other than, as was stated-- a good site will ck with the "official" source before posting.

It has happened repeatedly with Lilja's site. It is understandable to want to get "breaking news" out there, but first rule is confirm your source. SK.com is the "official " source and MsMod is his PA.

Personally, until it is posted here, it is rumor.

I was gonna say. I mean, it's not like a person can go over her head for sK info. There's no one between him and her.

Personally I'm a fan of both sites. Obviously, stephenking.com is the only 100% official source for all things King related but no info is getting released here until Steve gives the ok and all i's are dotted and t's are crossed. All other sources must be taken with a grain of salt.

Lilja on the other hand is a fan site that will contain both news and rumors. His site is a great place to find out about "rumors". He seems to have some pretty decent connections as he will get pictures and breakdowns of all appearances rather quickly, plus Peter Straub will shoot him an e-mail. I don't see a problem with him running the Talisman 3 story. He had people from the Washington DC tell him Steve has book 3 outlined and 'plans' to start writing next year. Peter Straub also confirmed directly to him the plan is to start writing next year.

I also think what makes Steve such a great interview and speaker can cause some headaches for his PR team while helping fuel articles for sites like Lilja's. Steve has a little bit of Quentin Tarantino in him. He is so passionate about his craft, has so many ideas and will be very candid with interviewers. In the past couple weeks we have heard about all the below projects and other possibilities from interviews.
- New Dark Tower book about Jericho Hill
- Finders Keepers
- 3rd Mr. Mercedes book
- title of story collection being Bazaar of Bad Dreams
- short story picking up after the Stand with Stu and Fran
- re-writing the whole Dark Tower series
- a project with his son Owen
- Talisman 3
- families on a lake having firework duel
