There's this idea that if a person uses the word, they are reclaiming it for the greater good. (the greater good, lol.) I don't agree with that in this case.

Words are only offensive if we allow them to be. How we react to them. And I guess this is my one word that I find offensive and react badly too.

I do not like the saying...crack whore. It is so demeaning to women. Sometimes women get hooked to the drug and it comes down to doing anything to get high with this horrible chemical....nobody deserves to be called that , however.

No. This woman isn't using it as a medical term. I've heard her call a person it...as in, you stupid c. OK, probably wasn't the word stupid. Probably you f** c.

Talking vulgar shows how little grace and style a person has. Rob Ford is the mayor of the fourth largest city in North America....Toronto deserves better.

yes. And I would like to say, IMO, there is a difference between kidding around and just being vulgar. I can't explain it very well, but I know the difference when I hear it or see it. Most times it is very obvious if someone is being vulgar in a malicious way. I hope I said that right.

Just my own opinion here, but I think IN HIS OWN MIND he was choosing the non-vulgar word. I honestly think he was gob-smacked by how upset people were.

How scary it is that he does not understand the concept of tactful behavior.

Sources confirmed to the Toronto Sun that Ford gave every member of his mayor’s office staff $5,000 raises on Friday before council stripped him of his powers.
