Anyone notice that there seems to be an increasing prevalence of the fear of clowns? I don't remember this when I was young, seems to have expanded rapidly since the 90's..now you hear about it all the time, and pretty much everyone professes fear or dread of clowns.. So how about it,you scared or not?

I always thought they were silly. Not funny, not scary. Just, "Hey, I look and sound funny, so laugh at me!!!" Unimpressed.

My kids were "meh" about them. Grandma hired a clown for one party, and in side conversations with the adults, she (the clown) was bemoaning the bad rap that clowns were getting. She considered herself being in a time-honored profession that was getting polluted an ddefamed. I felt sorta bad for her, but the feeling was tempered by what I considered to be a pretty silly gig (see the preceding short paragraph).

As I suspected, the majority, at least on 24 hrs, aren't really frightened.. I think for lots of folks it is just a fad, agreeing "oh my God clowns scare me too!"
Results are non scientific, but respondents are recognised as horror experts..
