1) Gerald's Game
The SpaceCowboy in the moonlight. Freaks me out to even think about it.

2) The Stand
Larry's trip through Lincoln Tunnel. Oh, and when Flagg and his huge, slavering mouth running & screaming, "YOU SCREWED UP, BOBBY TERRY!" I can see that clearly in my mind to this day.

3) Duma Key
The scene where Edgar is minding his own business and then a water zombie thing was just THERE in his kitchen. I gasped aloud and jumped for the first time in many, many years the first time I read that part.

4) The Talisman
The scene where Jack is almost (molested? Killed? something worse?) in the Oatley Tavern.

5) IT
Ben and Pennywise in the library.Terrified me.

6) The Shining
Inside Room 217. 'Nuff said.

7) The Man In the Black Suit
when he changes and the kid has to pretend he doesn't notice

8) The Boogeyman
when he comes out of the closet clutching his doctor mask in "one rotten, spade shaped claw"

9) A Good Marriage
The whole thing

10) Gramma
Lord, that story creeped me out
Definitely to the shining that's my scariest scene

...The Jaunt...
The Jaunt is one of my top three favorite sK shorts, due to how well it is written, as well as how it ends...
The little boy, who by then had spent a virtual eternity in Eternity - with all attending monstrous inconceivabilities, hugenesses, en-endingnesses - emerging completely beyond insanity.
It was truly terrifying.

Yeah, I enjoyed the jaunt, fascinating subject matter, makes you think how you might deal with such a situation, then makes you shudder at the idea.

Several scenes in It. The Library scene was a big one. I always saw my hometown library when I read that. But several others as well.

The Library Policeman: when he pushed his boxcutter up to the protagonist's neck. I had to stop reading, it was about 2:00 am, and go around making sure all my doors and windows were locked. Then I had to turn on the tv and watch a couple Andy Griffith episodes before I could get to sleep. I've often thought this story was an overlooked masterpiece.

And Gramma. I kept seeing my own Grandma when she was ill at the end and we were at her house taking care of her. She was a sweetheart but that's the image that kept rising to my mind. Very scary.

What about in Pet Sematary and the part where Jud is describing the Timmy Baterman stroy and theway he was just staring at the sn like that

Or when Louis goes to bury Gage and he sees the Wendigo that would have freaked me out too.

Rose Madder
"She heard thudding hooves approaching from behind her" when Rose was down in the Maze getting the baby "Caroline" I was so utterly scared on her behalf that I think I held my breath until I knew the bull wasn't going to catch her :a24:!!
Lisey's Story
" The thing that used to be his brother lies sprawled with its back against the center post and its legs splayed" when ol Scoot decided to try and save his brother, and it's the moment before you know if he's going to be able to do it and live or die trying!

Yes!!!!!! Exactly!!!! That's pretty much what I was going to post!
and the space cowboy in general

I must ask about your name? Lmao

But probably the scene from insomnia when he is starting to see the little doctors. I was at senior week at the time and I had split off from my group like midway through the week. One day it had to sleep beneath the pier and I spent the afternoon listening to waves and reading this book. Surprisingly scary mixture.

Carrie is my favorite SK book. I was bullied pretty much every day of all 4 years of high school, so I have an affinity with Carrie White. I also suffered an embarrasing incident in the shower after gym class, though I am male and it obviously was not the same thing that happened to Carrie.
