Is that some kind of mountain Squirrel? or more like a chipmunk? I mean the place where the photo was taken is way over the tree limit.
Must be a mountain marmot
220px-Marmot-edit1.jpg
Similar to our ground squirrel which is classified as a lowland marmot, actually
and then there is the 'yellow bellied marmot'

found in southwest Canada

Looks like you are right. That top one could be the brother of the one i photoed. They were completely unafraid. It was as if they liked getting their photo taken.

I heard the name at the moment but it was six years ago.....

Could the name have been Nutria or Coypu? I think they're called Coypu in Sweden. They are (or used to be) farmed for their fur. They're pretty much extinct in the wild. They weigh about 35 pounds (16 kg). I thought I saw a nutria last year until I got a look at its tail and realized it was a beaver.

As far as i know we don't have Marmots in Sweden. Neither under the Name Nutria or Cuypu. They are two names that i never heard in my life before actually. We have plenty of beavers and we have squirrels. That kind that live in trees, not the ground-dwelling variety. I have checked the names and they appear to belong to some kind of big swamp rat. Kind of a semi-aquatic creature. Seems to be some in spain but not in sweden.

Y'know what? I just reread your text under your photo and I'm not sure if my reading comprehension is the pits or if I need to take a course in geography (the Rockies arn't in Sweden lol) but anyways... just ignore my post about nutrias. GNT and Neesy have got to be right, its got to be a marmot :)

I don't know but it was a little guess. That picture you must be photoshoped.
Does this look anything like what he posted
York_Cathedral.jpg
I do not think it was photoshopped - they have grass inside the cathedral??? Again I will have to confirm this - don't believe everything you see on the internet, they say!
