I just think that it is a little bit more mysterious to have a username. This is just coming from the old school SKMB member.
Arista did you know that I recently typed your name in an operative report? The surgeon put 'Arista' powder in the surgical site at the end of the procedure to prevent adhesions.

I wrote "many," not "all." Good to see you are living up to your screen name... It fits you well! :watermelon:

I simply meant it in an "I can only speak for myself" kind of way, not a "you're mistaken" one. I must say, in my short time on these boards, I've encountered quite a few testy members who seem loathe to give me the benefit of the doubt. I just came here to have fun, y'all. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Sorry, I was just poking fun, especially because of your screen name; I couldn't pass up the chance. I ended with my signature smiley watermelon... What can be more lighthearted than that? It's a watermelon... And it's smiling... A watermelon! Smiling! :watermelon:

Ah, that's fair. To be honest, the screen on which I first read your reply had poor resolution. I made out the watermelon, but not its friendly grin.

Great. Now I want watermelon.

We always called those 'stuffed cabbages'; I love 'em. Food of my heritage, tweaked just a little bit to be healthy. Inside, mine have a mixture of lean hamburger and ground pork, rice, spinach, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. I wrap them in (blanched) collard greens or cabbage. Heavy tomato sauce with a touch of vinegar and dash of tabasco, then bake for an hour at 350*, top with cheddar or parmesan. Better the next day, but ahh, they are yummy. Thanks Walt.

There's a certain kind of woman who peaked in high school and still thinks the material things are what's important - and those girls take their misery out on the world (oh their poor kids) - and we steer clear of them. But I love my girlfriends. The ones who let me say the real things and don't judge. The ones who don't pretend they have McFabulous lives on facebook when they're really struggling along with the rest of us. And I love my girls on here.

Guys have the same attitudes. (Actually NO, we don’t... all we care about it if you have a decent man cave to watch the weekend games, and if there’s beer in the fridge.) :)

Janis Ian knew that kind of woman very well as her song "At Seventeen" describes:

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear-skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired

The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say, "Come dance with me"
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems at seventeen
A brown-eyed girl in hand-me-downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said, "Pity, please, the ones who serve
'Cause they only get what they deserve"
And the rich relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly
So remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debentures of quality and dubious integrity
Their small town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received at seventeen
To those of us who knew the pain
Of valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
When dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
They call and say, "Come dance with me"
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me at seventeen
