FlakeNoir Thank you for asking the difficult questions. I want to play but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to figure out how and I'd blow it for everyone. I remember last Christmas when you and some others did a bang up job getting gifts for everyone - it was so great.

Sigmund Count me in! This sounds like a lot of work for you - hollah if you need me.

You're welcome Ms, Holly-Polly... you can always count on me to worry a new thing to death until I've examined each and every aspect of it... 7 or 8 times over. :a11:

This may have been mentioned, but is the board going to be closed Christmas Eve through New Year's Eve like last year? We may have to get our shopping done early if so - I'm terrible at Christmas shopping.
I love you all to bits... but, I really hope that it will be, need to catch up on some shut-eye. :biggrin2:

Oh gosh, girl! Me too. Worry, worry, worry. My troubled worried mind.

Kurben Did I ever tell you about the year my husband got me a fancy engagement ring and all I got him was a magazine rack and a hose to attach to the bathroom faucet to make bathing the dogs easier on him? You really don't want me for a Secret Santa, but I'll try.

I sympathize and understand. You know in Sweden we have the eating and the gift giving and everything on Christmas eve, not Christmas day. The two red days after that is for recuperation. You stroll in to the kitchen when your hungry and take something, and theres a lot to chose from, and wander back to doing not very much. Perhaps reading the book you just got while eating candy or something else. Two days when the country is practically shut down. Nice.

I have to put myself in the category of Kurben and HollyGolightly. Pictures of gift cards anyone? :icon_eek:
I will apologize in advance to whomever I get as I haven't been on here very long and am not sure what everyone is into(besides the obvious. SK. lol)but I will try my hardest! I somehow get the distinct indication that Flake likes chocolate.....

Hadn't thought about it, to be honest, as I haven't heard what our holiday schedule is going to be yet but will now put that on the to do list. :smile2:

The first Christmas The Man and I were dating, he got me this beautiful soft sweater... and I got him a cassette tape. I actually got him a sweatshirt AND a cassette tape, but it felt like rushing things so I just gave him the tape--lol. I do much better now, but I felt terrible that year.

The day after Christmas is a HUGE shopping day here. Americans are crazy. I lay around in my pajamas, reading and eating stocking candy and maybe having a LoTR marathon--lol.

you are right, Flake- the "secret " Santa would be known via the avatar .

If this is not an issue- no problem--
IF we want to keep it an anonymous Secret Santa-- one possible solution ( oh so much work for Siggie or the volunteer) The name and gift(s) could be sent to the "assigned" poster and all would just see that poster. The actual secret Santa would remain anonymous. Make sense???

Actually, there is a second way to do it.

Everyone would be given a name to "buy" for. And a second name to "send via pm". (Are pm's visible to everyone?)

So, person A shops for person B. person A sends the pictures and message to person C. person C posts it. All you know is, person C did not buy it.

To keep Sigmund's Santa a secret....let's say Flake gets Sig's name....Flake can offer to trade with anyone else on the list. Sigmund won't even know whether her name was traded or not.

Just thoughts....

I becomes so increasiungly here too... But still many stores are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day... But the big Madness breaks out and there is a thing callad "MellandagsRea" about Betweenthe days Sales. meaning the days between Christmas and epiphany when everything is supposed to be a catch. I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those... So much people there isn't enough room to breath.. I'm like Ferdinand, i just like to sit under my tree and watch the others and smell the flowers (and read a book).
