He is! I liked the first season best, because they 'got' why Sherlock is so popular after a century: his deductive skills. Although I've enjoyed the last two seasons, they have become more and more like Sherlock is a lucky guesser--lol. Cumberbatch and Freeman are truly wonderful actors, though.

I love Sherlock! I agree with skimom though that the first season was best. I wish there were more shows though and I wish we didn't have to wait so long......:inspect:

Builds the antici...................pation ;) . Do you watch LUTHER, Mstay? Love that one, too. I dream of a crossover between that and Sherlock (Hey, both are set in London and both are geniuses!) that will never happen :D

Only 2 seasons on Netflix & HULU+, DARN IT! The third season just wrapped up a few months ago, though, so maybe once the DVDs of that have been out for a while it will show up on one or both of them. Alice is his Moriarity--lol. Have you watched WHITECHAPEL yet? Three seasons, all good. Daughter is looking for legal site to catch the fourth season online.

Anyone watching this? Cumberbatch is a very good Sherlock.
I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan for ages, have read everything Conan Doyle ever wrote about him. I've watched a bunch the Rathbone movies, and all the movies I've been able to featuring Holmes, and all the TV shows. PBS produced an excellent series starring Jeremy Brett, which was very faithful to the original stories. I've seen a couple of the recent series' shows and dug 'em.

I just sat down to watch this for the first time yesterday on Netflix. The first ep had me hooked with it's snappy one liners.
"Are these human eyes?"
"Put those back!"
"They were in the microwave."
"It's an experiment."

and

"I'm in shock. Look! I have a blanket!"

Sadly, from what I see, those aren't as quick or catchy in subsequent episodes. I hope they pick back up.
Though, I have hit rewind more than once to see "The woman" beat up on him with a riding crop. That's just my kind of date.

Clever writing, brilliant acting. I hope they sharpen it back up to the standards of the first ep.
