...I admire the spirit of the story, and you have talent-but from the strictly amateurish writer standpoint I come from, the use of metaphors and descriptives is a bit heavy-handed...trim that a bit and you have an even nicer piece of writing...

I have gotten better, but I need to kill my darlings more quickly. ^.^
I haven't read your story yet, just going by what you and GNT have said.
I think you could probably suffocate under my descriptions buahaa
Hey, "A" for effort.
Good storyline.
A strong statement as your opener would be better than the current simile.
Drop some of your descriptive passages and allow your reader to envision their own person/thing/house/movement.
Keep writing. You only get better with practice and experience.
