OK so as a little break from SK (haven't read anyone else since early summer) I am reading NOS4R2 by Joe Hill for a change.

Someone just took their dog on a 'plane flight with them - can you really do that in the U.S.? The authorities would have a fit if you suggested that over here.

So far as I know you can keep your pet with you in a carrier as long as it's small enough. I can be wrong here though, it's just what I've heard or seen on TV shows.

Oh, clever people can game the system and take an ‘emotional support animal’ on a flight with them if they get the right paperwork, and are allowed to fly for free. Not just dogs and cats, but pigs, chickens, goats, rabbits, etc. But there is discrimination as snakes, reptiles, ferrets, rodents and spiders aren’t allowed. Only in America!

Yeah, I've seen lots of pets in carriers. Yet to see a service animal. Not sure how those are handled.
Service animals- each airline has their own rules. But generally, you need a current document letter from the doctor/ ID and to notify the airline 48 hours prior to flight. You can keep a small animal on your lap/ or by your feet, but it can't protrude to the aisle. You can not sit in an exit aisle. Some airlines allow you to buy a seat for the animal, otherwise there is no charge.

Big difference between a blind person and the person who needs a pig to smell their private parts or they'll break out crying. :)
Well, I guess you told me. I hate flying next to people on a plane who have to have pigs smelling their private parts. I'd much rather see them go pigless and cry. It's the Mericun way after all. Maybe we could just shoot them. Ummmm yeah.

Shooting them is rather harsh. Turning them into sausages is a far better and tastier ending. :)
