There is nothing wrong with conversing with eachother about any topic.

Exactly. You see, what happens here at the SKMB, is that a lot of people who share a love for, and yes possibly an addiction to, the stories of Stephen King, become friends. Friends like to talk to each other about a variety of things. Since the friendships started here, isn't it logical that they would remain here? Why go off to some other website to talk about non-King topics when you can stay right here, at home?

'fans' here
Not 'fans.' Fans.
We love Stephen King. Most of us like each other as well. So our posts often show that. Mr. King doesn't seem to mind as he's kept the site up for a little bit now. I hope you will join in on our fun because these members are some of the funniest, kindest, best friends a 'fan' or fan could have.

And Shoesalesman, I mean, Blunty. This is for you:

It matters not Iif there areother areas on This site for learned discussion on tbe finer points of Mr. Kibg's work, but rather why you find it necessary, nay acceptable, to sully the official site of such a markedly talented mn, regardless of forum, with discussions about some brit WAG who has a 6 pack 4 days

Of course it matters that there are other areas on the board for discussion of King's specific works!! It makes it so much easier to find the particular subject you would like to discuss. Also, it allows people to avoid general discussions if they so wish.

Oh, and I think you should capitalize the "b" in "brit" as it is a proper noun.

Oh, and I'm old, so I had to Google the urban dictionary to find out just how insulting the term "WAG" is. It's pretty insulting.

Actually, since the OP is brand new, and has probably gone to the threads were there is absolutely nothing posted in them, as all of those posts have been deleted when we made the switch to the 'new' board, I can understand why the OP might think that we aren't 'serious' fans and only can blather on about silly topics. I love silly topics myself. When I see all of the threads that have no posts in them, it makes me feel like the Maytag repairman. See- I just posted something silly there!
That said, many of us have been members of this forum for a l-o-n-g time and we do take Mr. King's works very seriously. There have been many a lively discussion on here about his books and/or movies, but we don't keep it to just King topics. If the OP just wants to discuss King, then they can just stay in those particular threads. Some of us have developed friendships with each other here, even if we've never met in person, we can become friends and enjoy each others ideas and thoughts and share things from our daily lives here. Some of us have met in person and have been able to put a face to an avatar and remain friends to this day. I believe some of us have even met and gotten married.
What makes us different from other message boards is the deep amount of respect we have for Mr. King and for each other. We can have discussions here without calling each other names and flinging poo at each other. (well, most of us, you gotta watch out for that GNTLGNT guy!! :biglove:)
I hope the OP will stick around long enough to see that we're a pretty good bunch of folken here.

To the OP,

We are family here. We consider ourselves to be Ka-Tet. We genuinely care for each other, we laugh together, we cry together. We band together. And we have many things in common, tons of fun and some disagreements, like families do. But the person who brought us all together? Stephen King.

This is an online community of the kind that I guarantee you will never find anywhere else on the big wide interwebs. I believe we make Uncle Steve proud, even with all of our nonsensical posts.

Maybe if you decide to stick around you will find all of that out for yourself.

What an awesome post. Wish I could be that eloquent and well written. I did manage to not post anything inflammatory to the person who started this post, and I do agree with you, that GNT guy is someone to look out for.:tongue-new:

He looks like he's 18 here. I really like him in Inception. Never really knew of him before I saw that movie- how'd I miss out on this one??? Num-num-nummers!!
He did a great job in Star Trek: Nemesis as the bad guy, Shinzon. I know a lot of people didn't care for that Trek movie, but I thought it was solid.
