He did a great job in Star Trek: Nemesis as the bad guy, Shinzon. I know a lot of people didn't care for that Trek movie, but I thought it was solid.
I'll have to check this out...I have loved him in everything. (Sometimes my husband, who's great at impressions, will talk just like Bane from The Dark Knight, and let's just say, I really like it when he does!)

So, your husband can do a great Sean Connery imitation? :wink-new: That's who I thought was doing the voice of Bane!!! He sounds so much like Connery in that movie, it was freaky!

Of course it matters that there are other areas on the board for discussion of King's specific works!! It makes it so much easier to find the particular subject you would like to discuss. Also, it allows people to avoid general discussions if they so wish.

Oh, and I think you should capitalize the "b" in "brit" as it is a proper noun.

Oh, and I'm old, so I had to Google the urban dictionary to find out just how insulting the term "WAG" is. It's pretty insulting.
I did not consult the urban dictionary 91rewoT :nevreness: I think wag is an old word because I heard it back in my Mom's day and she was born in 1925 so unfortunately is no longer with us. Wag means " a person who makes jokes" so if that is the case we have lots of wags here. Plus if the new member goes to the Puppies thread she'll see a lot of wags (tail wags!) :applause: Oh wait a sec - I am assuming the new poster is a she but I have not checked out his/her profile - sorry bout that old chap. P.S. Read some Stephen King books if you want some excellent examples of good humour. He has a wonderfully twisted and wacky sense of ha-ha :frog:

He can do just about anybody! And yes, you're right, Bane does sound like Sean Connery! If my husband wants to cheer me up, he knows all he has to do is an impression or two...keeps me in stitches. This is what he says all the time like Bane: "It would be extremely painful....for you." It's my favorite.

He has so much glee in his voice when he says '....for you!'

Actually, since the OP is brand new, and has probably gone to the threads were there is absolutely nothing posted in them, as all of those posts have been deleted when we made the switch to the 'new' board, I can understand why the OP might think that we aren't 'serious' fans and only can blather on about silly topics. I love silly topics myself. When I see all of the threads that have no posts in them, it makes me feel like the Maytag repairman. See- I just posted something silly there!
That said, many of us have been members of this forum for a l-o-n-g time and we do take Mr. King's works very seriously. There have been many a lively discussion on here about his books and/or movies, but we don't keep it to just King topics. If the OP just wants to discuss King, then they can just stay in those particular threads. Some of us have developed friendships with each other here, even if we've never met in person, we can become friends and enjoy each others ideas and thoughts and share things from our daily lives here. Some of us have met in person and have been able to put a face to an avatar and remain friends to this day. I believe some of us have even met and gotten married.
What makes us different from other message boards is the deep amount of respect we have for Mr. King and for each other. We can have discussions here without calling each other names and flinging poo at each other. (well, most of us, you gotta watch out for that GNTLGNT guy!! :biglove:)
I hope the OP will stick around long enough to see that we're a pretty good bunch of folken here.
Thank you KRF. And just to help the OP, here is a link to the archived MB. :)

You are a doll, just sayin.
I may make it my wallpaper...in my bedroom!
That's so funny! back in the day my sister (when she was married to her first husband) had a crush on Tom Selleck and had a poster of him in her bedroom. Every night she before she laid down in the bed she would say ever-so-sweetly 'Good night, Tom.' and then in a less-than-sweet tone tell her husband 'Goodnight, Jerry.' Tom may have been one of the factors in the divorce!!

Do you know that they actually did this stunt with the plane, attaching the cables to the sides, etc. for real? They had to go to some small country in Europe, I believe, to do so as there were alot of laws prohibiting what takes place with those two planes. They really did it, it's not CGI!!! Amazing to watch it when you know it's totally real!

Seriously. That is really amazing. It's one of my favorite scenes in the movie. I've watched it over and over. I like it when Bane grabs the seatbacks to keep from falling. For real biceps. Mmmm.

I really did laugh out loud at this. Sounds like something from a sit-com!

Huge fan of SK for over 20 years. I get pimply goosebumps when he releases a new book. Why do some of the 'fans' here waste our time, his time, or his publisher's time with post's which have nothing to do with his work? There is an infinite number of sites where you can post your ignorant ideas about god, social issues, or who won on last night's Bachelor. Please, let's not sully this forum with such nonesense.
Welcome to the Board. I'm sorry you feel the way you do about our "ignorant ideas", but as other posters have said we have been around for years, so we feel more like family than a book discussion group. We do talk about Mr. King's books as you will see by some of the Thread titles, and if this is what you want I would suggest you avoid reading the threads that don't personally interest you. I don't read everything myself either, but you will miss getting to know a great group of people. Give it a chance but if it's not for you, I'm sorry.
