9.) Mimic (1997). I remember watching this many years ago, so assumed it wouldn't make me too squeamish with my bug phobia! It was creepy, but I made it through. Decent plot.
I watched that a couple of weeks ago, but too early to count for this. I thought it was okay, but the cockroach thing at the beginning nearly did me in. The later stuff didn't bother me, because it was not realistic.

7) The Damned-2012 possession movie, set in Colombia. The movie is in a mixture of English and Spanish (subtitled). The acting was fair, the story sort of silly, but it wasn't awful. Peter Facinelli has the most fluorescent white teeth that I've ever seen (lol), but at least he was playing dad to a college age kid instead of her boyfriend. Worth a single watch, if you can't find anything better.

11.) The Purge (2013) -- with Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. It was OK. A kind of home invasion but the premise is that one night a year you can do anything without getting convicted. Murder is allowed. So it is a gloomy futurestory too. But i have seen Hawke do better i must say.

From Dusk Till Dawn. That Salma Hayek dance never gets old.

Also watched The Hungover Games. A parody film based on both The Hangover and The Hunger Games. Even though Carrie is one of the tributes, I don’t think it falls under the horror genre, but I wanted to give it a shout-out anyway (IFC is replaying it on Thursday, I believe). :)

We watched this over the weekend and being a fan of stupid movies and pop culture I found it rather funnt and loved the Carrie reference!

12.) Extinction (2015) -- A zombievirus erases most of humanity-movie. Seen better in that genre. Matthew Fox in the lead. He doesn't exactly shine.... Is worth a watch though but nothing to write up in the history books. Spanish made with american actors.

6. Hardware (1990)
An industrial artist in a dystopian future is menaced by the reanimated remnants of a battle robot. I saw this many years ago on VHS and at the time thought it a rather stylish knockoff of the final tense scenes of the original Terminator movie. Its anniversary release on Blu Ray made me curious to see it again and give it a second chance. This still feels a bit like the lost cousin of Terminator, Blade Runner, and Mad Max, and the things that made it stylish back in the day just make it seem dated and almost quaint. Ah, remember when the future used to be dark and full of jagged wires, music by Ministry, and fuzzy green computer resolution? Anyway, it's still quite an enjoyable oddity, and makes you further lament the decline of director Richard Stanley, who was later unfairly yanked off the set of The Island of Doctor Moreau, never to be seen again (well, until very recently). And yes, this is horror, just of the sci-fi sort...I mean, a killer robot with poison needles?! Now that's horror.

4 out of 5 stars.
