At the same time.... If the start and opening song is the best with the movie it makes you wonder how good the movie really is? I've just seen it so know what you mean but still.....
I liked the movie. It has some problems, (mostly the best friend kid and the girlfriend) but overall, I think it's pretty okay. But the song is perfect.

I love the phantasm movies... lol.. I had them all on vhs ( I had hundreds of movies on vhs ) now I am rebuilding my collections on dvd. I need to order those! Thanks for bringing it back to mind!

#26) Halloween (2007) by Rob Zombie .. This is a rare classic horror film that the remake is totally awesome!! But I may be bias as I love Rob Zombie.. he is very talented as a musician and as a director. 5 out of 5 stars (Halloween 2 is next)

You're welcome. I love the Phantasm movies as well (at least the first 2). If you have a Blu-ray player, there's an awesome collector's edition of Phantasm 2 available with lots of bonus features, reversible cover art and a cool slipcover.

6. The Blob (1958) Steve McQueen

Great campy fun. 28 year old high schooler, Steve McQueen discovers a mysterious garbage bag attacking the townspeople. The police think he’s a juvenile delinquent and don’t believe him. The high school kids are on the ball and the adults are all stupid. 7/10
Is The Blotch on Netflix (my new name for The Blob.)

9) The Stranger-2013 Could have been an interesting take on the vampire mythos (the filmmakers switch some things up on tradition), but missed the mark by d...r...a...g...g...i...n...g along. It was an hour and a half that felt like 3. Hipster horror again: lots of screaming 'f*ck' at each other place of real tension. Animal killing, so look out morgan --this is not for you. Meh. I think I'm finished with newer movies & am going to seek out old movies that I've missed for a while. (FTV)

Next leg of marathon movie watching.

6. Dream House ~ A man moves his family to the country and learns that his dream house was the location of a family being brutally murdered. While not a true horror film, this was a good psychological thriller and it held my attention. 4 out of five stars.

7. Haunt ~ Another story of a family moving to the country, only to learn that the house is haunted. This could have been a good story, but something got lost somewhere along the way. 3 stars.

8. Out of the Dark ~ A family relocates to Colombia and is haunted by past events. Interesting story concept, but more mystery/suspense than horror. I liked the movie, but the acting could have been better. 3.5 stars

9. Twixt ~ Kind of a Gothic horror film from Francis Ford Coppola. Interesting tale of a down on his luck writer as he gets caught up in a small town's mysterious past and the murder and disappearance of a young girl. Starring Val Kilmer. I've seen much better from both Coppola and Kilmer. 2.5 stars.
