I only heard of him when those two girls in Wisconsin attempted to kill their friend and said Slender Man made them do it, I've since read the creator sited Stephen Kings The Mist as an inspiration. Has anyone else here heard of this legend?

I saw a 20/20 or one of those shows on Slender man, and those girls.
First I had heard of it. And this is the first I heard anything to do with SK about it.
