(An embarrassing story - he was opening for another band and wasn't hugely famous yet (at least not to me!). I was working in a department store (my first job) and one of the guys in the men's department called and told me someone famous was over there. I kinda knew who he was, but he was so short! I told him I didn't believe it was him and he actually showed me his driver's license!

That is so awesome. It is a surreal feeling meeting a famous person, isn't it? He sounds like a normal, grounded guy.
