I agree with you, liking the K sound (and for me, the J sound too) as having some strength in the names. And I'm partial to Celtic names.

I'm partial to Jake for personal reasons having nothing to do with a crow.

Nikos is good - keep in mind that peers will invariably call him Nick or Nicky. And I don't know your last name, but if it's something like Danielson, his initials are NAD, which could be problematic.

I have a Nicholas, and it surprises me how often I have to spell his name for people--there are a lot of variations out there. I hesitated, because our last name ends with -ski. Together with the inevitable 'Nick', his name sounds like a big guy with no neck who plays for the Bears :) Still, I love both the name and the meaning, Victorious, so I went with it anyway.
