I was the worst feeling with my daughter. I don't know if there is something to that wives' tale that says you will be sicker with the opposite sex than your first? (or in my case, two, the oldest two are both boys) I was so nauseous I wished I could vomit. With all four of them though, toothpaste brought on gagging, no matter what brand, flavor, etc. Not really something I could just stay away from! ;-D

Just remember, Shasta, it will pass! You will feel pretty amazing fairly soon.
The gender didn't make a difference for me--had it with both the girls and boys. It never bothered me before having gotten pregnant the first time, but to this day I cannot smell fried bologna (was something my first husband liked) without having to suppress my gag reflex.

Yes! Toothpaste still bothers me once in a while, too. Not all the time thank goodness, I wouldn't want to dread brushing my teeth. But, definitely a Pavlov response, I believe!

LOL - I can't stand the smell of gas stations and fried food together - like if there's a BP next to a KFC - it still makes me want to hurl. Our sense of smell produces powerful memories!

Shasta, I envy you the first time you feel movement and other than remembering the times when they decided to head butt my ribs or compress my bladder, every other time you feel movement, too. I always felt that mix of amusement but wishing I could help whenever they had the hiccups. :wink2:

I feel the same way. I loved watching them move around in my belly. At the time of my first pregnancy, we had just bought a new house and my husband worked out of town, so I would work all day and come home to a cool, clean house, eat dinner, take a shower and climb in bed and just watch my belly move around. Loved it. I was in love with my babies.

I can do this with my belly even when I'm not pregnant.

I personally have pledged to continually remind the Board Babies of the pregnancy & delivery hell they put their mothers through, so as with Baby Bonecrusher, I promise to do my utmost with this Baby Barffest that I will never be sympathetic to her pregnancy nausea.

Yes, I said "her". I think it's a girl.

I seriously cannot wait. Even though I feel awful I truly don't care. I cannot wait to feel the little guy. It's amazing how much you can love something that just barely exists.

My husband is very excited too. He's not talking to my my belly, like I thought he would, but I think that's because he can't see anything yet!

Had night nausea with my first, a boy. Couldn't stand to cook the evening meal.
Second, a girl was pretty easy going. She makes up for it now.
Ginger tea, flat ginger ale and saltines were a life-saver.

GINGER TEA SOUNDS AMAZING!! I will get some today. Thank you!

And you keep giving me hope that it's a boy.

xD

And on a final note - here's me with my 8 week sticker! (That sounds like AA!)

Cheez-Its, oyster crackers (they have lots of baking soda in them and that settles a tummy well), that ginger ale Spidey recommended, even ginger snaps if you want something with sugar....they have baking soda in them, too. Whatever works, girl. (Oh, and p.s. - most people drink water or something with the saltines - you avoid "cracker throat" that way.)

Wouldn't it be cool if the baby had tattoos like yours when it was born?
