I was very excited that Stephen King is doing a book signing in Maine. I waited in line for tickets this morning and was disappointed to find out that despite every promotional email and flyer I saw regarding the event stating a limit of one ticket per person, Books A Million was allowing people to buy up to 3 books with tickets per person. As luck would have it, there were about 20 people ahead of me when they ran out of the 400 guaranteed signing tickets. I did receive 1 of the 100 not guaranteed tickets, but will be devastated if I don't get the opportunity to finally meet Mr. King. Please know that I understand that the event was first come, first served, but by allowing more than 1 ticket per person, there were many disappointed fans this morning, some of which came from all over New England for this event.

I'm sorry to hear the staff was not adhering to the guidelines that had been set out. Unfortunately, we don't have any control over that and it's been our experience that in spite of all best efforts, this sort of thing is bound to happen now and again particularly in the larger chain stores. I hope you'll be able to get your book signed as part of the wait list.

So every time they bought a book they got to purchase a ticket? - hmmm - way to jack up their profits, eh?
Those who bought the tickets might be trying to resell them at a profit, as well - as usual it is all about the money :big_money:

are as GNTLGNT says "all about the Benjamins"

Sorry to hear this and I hope you get to meet Mr. King :biglove:
