Well, I do have relatives in WVA and VA, but I don't get down much to see them unfortunately. Although I will say that apple butter and scrapple have become firmly planted in my lexicon. And stomach.
Oh I love that stuff!
And I make a pretty mean scrapple, we have a very regional thing here in the Cincinnati/tri state area
called goetta, and it's essentially the same thing,
but made with pinhead/steel cut oats instead of cornmeal, it's wonderful and comfort food from my childhood.

And speaking of speaking of all things, 'bacon' , just saw on The Today Show, The Bacon Brothers', Kevin and his older brother Michael, band is going back on tour....and the most amazing thing about that story is, my tv is receiving NBC this morning, AND while it's raining
I suppose that tin foil hat we made last year come in handy, after all

We have a place here called Appalachian Cookie Co. They will deliver freshly baked cookies up until the wee hours.
They've got a cookie that they call the Ron Swanson.....it's a chocolate chip cookie with crispy bacon crumbles, Jack Daniels, and maple syrup added to the dough.
